Reem Kadem is one of the starring roles in the feature film, Blood Ride, which was shot in Hamilton, Ohio, and won Best Ohio Feature Film, alongside James Franco (Spider-Man, 127 Hours). Internationally, she wrapped the starring role in the feature film, Nawal the Jewel, and marks history as the first American to star in Indian cinema speaking Malayalam in sync sound on set, where she worked opposite award winning Indian actors such as Adil Hussain, (Life of Pi), as well as others.
She plays the tour de force, title role of Nawal Al Amir, inspired by the life of Reyhaneh Jabbari, a woman with an international following, who fought to defend her life against a rapist in Iran, but was sentenced to death (a subject even more timely now with the Me Too movement). She spent over 4 months of preparation on the script and became the first American actor in a lead role to use her own voice as a non-fluent speaker of Mollywood Cinema.
She has been featured on the cover of various press articles, billboards, and magazines, including India’s top newspapers such as The Hindu and Times of India, calling Reem’s performance “brilliant” and “probably the best part of the film”.
She is one of the founding members of Women Creating Change with esteemed Hollywood producer Lee Broda (The Forgiven, Dark Places) an organization that just had its first successful launch in Hollywood, to help bridge the gap and empower women from all over the MENA region, working in entertainment, and to help create opportunities for them with other industry professionals.
She made her directing and producing debut with Self Serve, to help advocate against The U.S. Department of Labor’s pending rule, which would possibly take tips away from servers, and place them into the pockets of their restaurant owners.
She has worked in some of the biggest production offices in Hollywood as a gatekeeper, critiquing scripts for some of the industry’s finest. Along with having optioned her material, she has been a work-for-hire and a consultant.
Ms. Kadem is soon launching a script & talent consultation business entitled ScReemPay Services, of which she has been endorsed by Academy Award, Sundance and Emmy Nominated industry.
